Dr. Wen-Hsiang Hsieh received his B.S. degree from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) in 1989, and both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan in 1991 and 1998, respectively. His current researches focus on mechanism design, bionics mechanisms, precision assemblies and systems,  and automatic machinery.

Since August 1991, he has been with the National Formosa University (NFU), Yunlin, Taiwan, where he is currently a professor in Department of Automation Engineering. Dr. Hsieh was promoted to be an associate professor, and a professor in 1999 and 2007, respectively.   He also served as the Director of Technical Licensing Office in 2005/03-2006/02, and the Head of the Technology Cooperation Division of the NFU during 2004/08-2006/02.

Dr. Hsieh has published more than 100 papers in the areas of mechanism design, bionic mechanisms, recycling devices, precision machinery, etc. He has already owned thirteen Chinese Invention Patents till now, and more than two patents are under review. Moreover, he is the first author of the books - CATIAV5 Part Design (ISBN 986-7784-40-5) and CATIAV5 NC Machining (ISBN 986-129-344-2).

Currently Dr. Hsieh serves as the president of Taiwan Association of Engineering and Technology Innovation (TAETI). He is also members of the Chinese Society of Mechanism and Machine Theory, the Society of the Manufacturing Engineers (SME). Additionally, He served as the Program Chairman of the International conference on Engineering and Technology Innovation (ICETI2011, ICETI2012). Committee member of Automation 2005 (the Eighth International Conference on Automation Technology), the Technical Chairman of ICAM2005 (2005 International Conferences on Advanced Manufacture), he served as the Co-Chairman of Program Committee of Automation 2007 (the Ninth International Conference on Automation Technology). He now serves as the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Engineering and Technology Innovation (IJETI), a member of the Editorial Boards in Journal of Vibroengineering(SCI), Indian Journal of Engineering and Materials Science(SCI), Recent Patents on Mechanical Engineering(EI), Engineering Letters(EI), Journal of Engineering, and Journal of Advanced Research in Optimization .
